So far, the 2025 growing season has been calm and steady. Budbreak and flowering happened right on time, and we’re expecting harvest to begin in early September as usual. It hasn’t rained much this year, but just enough – only the last few weeks have brought real heat and dryness. Summer is in full swing here in Montagna, with everything that comes with it: hot days, dry ground, and those golden evenings when the vineyards fall quiet in the warm air. And then there’s the "Ora del Garda", the gentle southern breeze from Lake Garda that arrives in the afternoon and brings a bit of welcome relief.
This is when we truly appreciate our high-altitude vineyards. Most of them sit above 500 meters, with some reaching up to 900. At that height, the vines can cool down at night, which is especially important in warm years like this one. Those cool nights help give our wines freshness, liveliness and depth.
Our organic approach is also showing its value. The vines are stronger, and the vineyards feel more in harmony. It takes a lot of care, observation and hand work – but that’s what makes the difference. When you live with the vines every day, you learn to sense what they need.
A special highlight this summer has been our Pop-Up Wine Bar . What started as a spontaneous idea has turned into a wonderful tradition – for our guests, and for us. As the sun sets behind the mountains and the view opens across the valley, something special happens. A glass of wine, good food, music, and conversation – that’s all you really need.
On all evenings, we also host an exclusive barrel tasting with Hannes for members of our Pfitscher Club – a relaxed, personal look at what’s quietly developing in the cellar.
If you haven’t joined the Pfitscher Club yet: it’s our way of staying close to those who love our wines and want to be part of what we do. Members get early access to special selections, private events and a few thoughtful extras along the way. It’s all about sharing something more personal and direct.
That same spirit of connection is what we try to create here in Montagna. Whether it’s a cellar tour, a guided tasting or a walk through our Pinot Noir vineyards – our new wine experiences are an invitation to discover our world up close, in the place where it all begins.
